“Folk-rockers Mason Adams Project recently released their debut EP, showing off frontman Mason Adams’ songwriting chops and powerfully gritty, heartfelt vocals. MAP’s songs feature lyrics that are easy to understand and relate to — but also sophisticated enough to often be malleable to the listener’s own experiences, too. Musically, Mason Adams Project lives in the folk-rock space, its sound nicely balancing a forceful grunge-rock background with a bright and hopeful mandolin and often-sunny vocal harmonies. Adams’ own experiences as a public school teacher and coach lend his songwriting on universal topics a realistic yet encouraging air. I’d advise keeping an ear out for Mason Adams Project: this young Dallas-based band has a future so bright they’ve gotta wear shades.”
